Diversity

WordCamp Montreal is committed to welcoming and celebrating diversity in our community.

What Are We Doing?

We encourage participation in our community by people of different: genders, sexual orientations, linguistic and ethno-cultural communities, classes, technical and physical abilities, ages, and more.

We have made efforts to reflect this diversity in our organizing team, our speaker roster, and the imagery on our website. We have organized conference sessions on diversity within the WordPress community and in tech in general in order to bring important issues to a wider audience. We have also offered speaker training sessions in order to promote new voices at our events. We have built links with groups that are working towards similar goals. We have chosen a venue with gender neutral bathrooms in order to better serve people of all genders.

We have instituted a code of conduct which applies at all of our events in order to help promote a healthy, welcoming environment.

How Can We Improve?

We also recognize that we often fail in our efforts. We would like to encourage members of our community and people who attend our events to let us know how we can improve. What services would you like to see us offer? How can we make our community more welcoming for all?
